The Looking Glass
Part II, The Beveled Edge

Re-invocation to the Divine Mother

- I -
Mother, accept this looking glass, offer it to Meher,
whom it may well please, if it pleases you –
may His smiling glance place bright silver there,
for we would reflect on what we must go back through.
to see this side of the two-way mirror of Meher
will require His vision to improve the view.

We are halfway to Infinity and desire this interaction –
we can only see the Mother’s Sun by His Moon’s reflection.

- II -
In Spring you gave me Insight’s affection,
since I asked so sweetly, and with due respect –
but Fall is cold now, with life in an introspection,
and I beseech you only for what is circumspect.
Raise our spirits, brighten them with long reflection
on the way of it, its end, and every aspect.

For what reason did you breed our kind?
In that season, what need had you in mind?

- III -
Pluck my gut strings with your whim’s intonation,
fashion these bones into pleasing chimes,
make what augments a growing inclination
and heats up what is glowing in these times –
play on hearts’ strings chords of acclamation
for poems mutely articulate as mimes.

Bring the evolution theme to what soothes in apt conclusion.
Sing the dream of involution awake by way of Truth’s allusion.

- IV –
Hold each one’s looking glass and enhance our vision
of times passing, past, and of future things,
for we are at, or near, some Place of Decision
and feel an angst, a restlessness, deep yearnings
that make us wonder at our sad condition
with a child’s need for what its mother brings.

Tell us of our Father, explain why He’s gone away
and say what will become of each of us, one fine day.
